New Online Permit Application process now live on IRC website

Today, following extensive consultation with unions and other stakeholders including SafeWork NSW, the Commission is excited to launch the new online application process for Right of Entry and Work Health and Safety permits on the Commission’s website https://ircpermit.powerappsportals.com/

The permits look identical to the previous hard copy versions.  The format allows the permit holder to print (choose the print option ‘actual size’) and laminate the permit if a hard copy is preferred or to use the electronic version on their phone.

From today, the Commission will no longer send permits via post.  The, estimated processing time for online applications is 24-hours from application to sending the digital permit.

All permits and application forms and their content will be protected to ensure robust security.  The Commission uses highly configured SSL encryption for email distribution from the internal network as well as domain security.  All permits will be issued as a secure digital PDF.  The Commission will password protect all PDF permits which will prevent any edits to the PDF other than by the Commission. Users will be directly and automatically notified of their own unique password.

This initiative has been designed to improve the user experience whilst ensuring compliance and improving efficiency.

As a consequence of the move to 100% online permits, from 16 October 2023 the Commission will no longer accept permit applications via post.
