The Industrial Relations Commission is pleased to announce the approval of a new, made-for-purpose form for applications for the review and/or appeal of decisions made pursuant to the Police Act 1990. The new form, Application for Review/Appeal Under Police Act 1990 (Form 8), was developed in consultation with representatives of the Police Association and the Commissioner of Police. The new form will be available for download on the Forms page of the Commission’s website from Tuesday 15 November 2022.
The new form should be used for applications for review of decisions made under ss 173 and 181D of the Police Act and for appeals of decisions made under s 186 of the Police Act relating to Hurt on Duty Decisions. However, the existing Form 7, Notice of Appeal – Police Hurt on Duty, will be accepted by the Industrial Registry until 23 December 2022.
The new form, like the existing Hurt on Duty application form, must be filed in person at the Industrial Registry at Level 10, 10 Smith Street, Parramatta, or at a Local Court by the applicant/appellant, their solicitor, or their union representative.
Please contact the Industrial Registry at (02) 8688 3516 for any queries regarding this or any other form.
